Hotel Morgana

Small scale is what Hotel Morgana has got going for it. This boutique, family-owned hotel is human-sized, and each of its twenty rooms have their unique own personality having been designed to each reflects Mexico's vibrant history and culture.

As you ascend from the warm and inviting lobby up to the rooftop pool and terrace, you'll find that each floor of rooms represents a vital time in Mexico’s culture. For example; the Frida Kahlo room is rich in the colours and patterns that so strongly defined one of Mexico’s most famous artists. The Maiz room celebrates the importance of corn as a staple of Mexico’s crops and is bathed in the warmth of golds and yellows, sure to brighten even the cloudiest of days.

What all the rooms have in common, however, is colourful tilework against a backdrop of soft neutrals, and some modern, yet unpretentious contemporary furniture to complement the spare, minimalist design sense.

All rooms come with basics like air conditioning and coffee machines; some feature private little balconies, others Jacuzzis, and the suites themselves are particularly spacious, with sofa beds for larger parties.

Alongside the amazing rooms, the hotel also offers a large rooftop terrace with pool, bar, solarium, and restaurant overlooking the rooftops of Playa del Carmen and out to the ocean.
