Integrating chic Italian design with meticulously restored architectural details, this loft style apartment in the heart of Venice, Italy gives guests the opportunity to explore this stunning town from one of Venice's most authentic districts.
This large, bright loft-style apartment is set in the Cannaregio district of Venice and has been meticulously restored to reflect its rich history and past. It features a fabulously tall frescoed ceiling, trendy Venetian terrazzo flooring, a luxurious and cosy lounge and dining area with a large mezzanine bedroom above, and French windows opening onto a long marble balcony overlooking the tranquil Rio di Santa Fosca Canal.
The open-plan main sitting/dining room has been furnished with a plush double sofa bed, a pair of leather Barcelona chairs with matching footstools, and a dining suite with seating for 4 guests. A well-equipped kitchenette with modern brushed stainless steel appliances and everything you'd need to make yourself feel at home.
A glass balustraded staircase with wooden treads rises from the lounge room up to the spacious bedroom loft above which contains a large queen upon polished wooden flooring.
The apartment is located in the Cannaregio Sestiere which is a district that occupies the north-western part of Venice and extends from the Grand Canal to the lagoon. Still a densely populated part of town today, this Sestiere was historically divided into two: an older one towards the Grand Canal with its sumptuous palaces, and the more recent and less-affluent one, which grew mainly in the 1600 and 1700s.
The apartment is within an easy stroll of some wonderful churches including the dainty jewel-box Santa Maria dei Miracoli, the Gesuiti with its towering white façade and statues of the Apostles, and Madonna dell’ Orto—the final resting place of the painter Tintoretto who lived nearby.
There are 3 Vaporetto (water bus) stops located very close by. These are San Marcuola (Casinò), Ca’ d’Oro and Madonna dell’ Orto – the latter offers easy travel to the beaches of the Lido and to the glass-blowing island of Murano, with connections at Fondamente Nove to the rainbow-coloured island of Burano and the island of Torcello. The apartment is only a 10/15 minute walk to San Marco square and the Grand Canal and from there its another short walk to the Venezia S Lucia train station.
