Billed as a design retreat, Casa Mami sits on 5 acres of sprawling desert just outside the famous Pioneertown in California. This pueblo-style home provides guests with an eco-friendly overnight design retreat that allows them to fully appreciate the beauty of the wilderness that surrounds the property.
The house consists of two double sized bedrooms that feature local artists work on the walls as well as natural textures and bed linen throughout. The house is equipped with a fully-featured, yet still minimal kitchen (with a beautiful black Smeg fridge) that allows you to cook meals for yourself if you get tired of visiting the numerous local restaurants.
The lounge room has been designed to make the most of the views out over the backyard and surrounding desert. It also features a large fireplace that will keep you warm and toasty during the cold desert nights. With the location being the main feature of our house, the owners say that they "wanted to bring the outdoors into the house". By opening the La Cantina out-swing french doors you'll be able to relax in the living room sitting on the Moooi Cloud Sofa by Marcel Wanders taking in the striking views that surround you.
Casa Mami has been curated with a selection of the owner's favorite brands and products. Their goal, they say, was to create an experience in which guests can interact with products in a different way.
Keep in mind
This property is located in a region that is still abundant with local wildlife, so don't be surprised if you run into a few unexpected guests in the surrounding areas - you might see wild rabbits, coyotes and even mountain lions as well as mice, beetles, snakes, and spiders.

Location
The house is located in Pioneertown, California, United States. You'll find Pioneertown in the middle of the Mojave Desert, above Palm Springs and near Joshua Tree.
