The dramatic interior of the Tent house has a minimalist edge incorporating designer furniture. The sun-drenched deck and boardwalks lead to a spa pool and fire pit set amongst lush native bush. The house has an superb indoor/outdoor bluetoothed sound system and striking landscape lighting that makes this the ultimate couples escape.
The house comprises of around 70m2 of floor space including the mezzanine sleeping area. There is one bedroom (the loft), one bathroom, a fully functioning kitchen with the rest of the space being open plan or some what of a gallery for the living.
The modern kitchen offers no compromises and provides full facilities which include an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and Nespresso coffee machine.
The house is set in a natural rain forest setting where hundreds of native plants have been planted to revive the native forest landscape that once dominated the island, in doing so many of the native birds have returned and the area now has a calm and relaxed feeling that only a forest can create.
This house was shortlisted for the NZ HOME of the Year 2015 and featured in Elle Decor Italy magazine.
The Tent house is located on Waiheke Island which is the most populated and second-largest island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand. It is a popular holiday destination for the residents of Auckland which is located just across the bay from Waiheke Island. The island is a small haven of beautiful vineyards, olive groves and white sandy beaches. Some people consider it to be the 'hamptons' of New Zealand. The island is located in the Hauraki Gulf off the coast of the largest city in New Zealand, Auckland. The easiest way to get to Waiheke Island is to take the Ferry from central Auckland. This takes around 35 minutes and runs hourly.
The nearest airport is Auckland International Airport which has regular connections to most corners of the world and offers direct flights to the West Coast of the United States.
