Casa Cook Chania is a brand new boutique hotel located on a pristine hillside in the ancient city of Chania on the Mediterranean island of Crete.
Lambs and Lions Berlin and K-Studio architects have worked hand-in-hand with the Casa Cook Group to design and architect a collection of low-slung, modernist villas terraced against the side of a low hill in Chania, on Crete’s north-western coast.
The resort has a village-like feel to it and has been purposely designed to be a more family-friendly version of Casa Cooks other successful resorts. All 102 rooms have been designed to sleep at least two adults and a child, plus there are bigger suites for larger families. Many come with shared or private pools.
However, just because it is a family-friendly resort, it doesn't mean that it has to look like a family-friendly resort. You'll find the resort has been expertly designed with a warm style that merges minimalist mid-century modernism with thoughtful and practical design. Each of the handcrafted rooms and suites feel earthy and organic, like a home away from home, perfect for both families and friends.
There are seven room types in the resort that range from a modest Garden View Double room to a larger Junior Suite that comes with a shared swimming pool and all the way up to the super exclusive Presidential Villas.
The focus on 'family' continues in the activities with clubs for the kids: cooking classes, painting workshops, sleepover experience in a teepee. Meanwhile, parents can relax with a yoga class or an energising massage.
The resort is located in the ancient Crete city of Chania. The city is famously known for its 14th-century Venetian harbour, its narrow streets and lively waterfront restaurants. Chania is not a big city, by European standards, but it certainly is a picturesque one and a destination where one of your activities for the day could simply be slowly sipping wine at a tiny open-air café as you watch the world go by.
